My family has spent four years involved in Goldstream Co-op Preschool. Both of my girls have absolutely loved going to this preschool! The dynamic program, experienced ECE, and amazing facilities have captivated these two children who have very different personalities. Daily my four-year-old asks, "Is it preschool day?" and if the answer is yes, then she leaps for joy. The social skills they acquired have been a great start on necessary lifelong skills. This parent participation preschool values the concept of COMMUNITY, which is very important to me. The effort that I have put into being part of this community has been well worth it! I have learned new skills (serving on the Executive for four years and attending Parent Education) and have made lasting friendships. It is gratifying to have made a contribution to my children’s education as well as to a lasting legacy that will serve the children and families of our community for years to come.

As parents of an only-child three-year-old, we wanted to find a learning environment for our son that offered him a chance to interact with other local children and learn through a variety of play options. In addition, it was important that there be a way that we could be involved in his preschool experience too.
Goldstream Co-op Preschool offers all that and more. Through the sharing days, the volunteer portfolios, social events, celebrations, fundraisers, field trips and parent education nights, we’ve been fully immersed as a family in the experience of a parent-participation preschool. The ECE is a highly trained, experienced professional with an obvious love for the children and her work. She is well organized, creative and has endless patience with the children (and parents!). You get out of an experience what you put into it, and our experience so far has been great. We highly recommend joining; we’re glad we did.

Preschool is such an important time in the development of a child and I was hesitant to enroll my daughter. She would be going to school for the rest of her life -- why start her any earlier than I possibly had to? In the end, I decided to give Goldstream Co-op Preschool a chance, with the intention that if she or I didn't like it, we could always cancel later. It was the most amazing decision I have ever made for her, and the fact that I get to go to school with her once a month is priceless. To see the joy on the children’s faces when they are in the classroom, and how excited they get just because it is THEIR day to feed the fish (a special treat for the "sharing day" child), is something I could not have understood if I wasn't physically there to witness it. Co-op preschool is such a wonderful way to be involved in their life. As a mom who works full time, it is such a beautiful opportunity to take a morning off and spend quality time with my daughter who wakes up every morning asking, "Is today my sharing day?"

Goldstream Co-op Preschool has benefited our whole family. My son is thriving -- making new friends and learning new skills daily. He comes home excited and happy, looking forward to his next day at school. My husband and I have gained valuable parenting information through the monthly education sessions, and we too have made new friends. I love the sense of community that develops throughout the school year as we adults work together for the benefit of our children. At Goldstream Preschool, I feel we have found the village it takes to raise a child.
